The Ceremony
We will be getting married outside on the north lawn of our church, Calvary Episcopal Santa Cruz. Built in 1864, it is the oldest church building in Santa Cruz still in operation as a church. It is located in downtown Santa Cruz at 532 Center Street. Rev. Dr. Austin Leininger will officiate. The ceremony is at noon.
Hochzeitszeremonie
Wir heiraten kirchlich in unserer Kirche, Calvary Episcopal Santa Cruz. 1864 erbaut, ist sie die älteste Kirche in Santa Cruz die heute noch in Gebrauch ist. Das Gebäude ist zum Teil aus alten Schiffsplanken gebaut. Calvary Episcopal Church befindet sich in Downtown Santa Cruz, 532 Center Street.
The Reception
The ceremony will be followed by a dinner reception from 5-10pm at Highlands Park, located in the scenic San Lorenzo Valley at 8500 Highway 9, Ben Lomond. Highlands Park is about a 20-minute drive from downtown Santa Cruz.
Hochzeitsfeier
Auf die Hochzeitszeremonie folgt eine Hochzeitsfeier von 17 – 22 Uhr im Highlands Park im schönen San Lorenzo Valley, 8500 Highway 9, Ben Lomond. Highlands Park liegt 20 Minuten mit dem Auto von Santa Cruz entfernt.
Dress
Dress for the wedding is cocktail attire.
For those who may not have spent much time in coastal California, note that the weather in August tends to be hot during the day but chilly at night, so layers are often a good idea. Both the ceremony and the reception will be outside, so we do recommend sun protection, shoes comfortable for walking in grass, and a warm layer for after the sun goes down.

An der Küste in Kalifornien ist es im August tagsüber meistens heiß, aber abends oft kühl. Bitte bringt etwas zum Überziehen mit.

At the risk of sounding trite, we want you to know that the greatest gift for us would be to have you with us in Santa Cruz to celebrate our marriage, whether you’re coming from Germany, Virginia, or just from over the hill. In lieu of presents, we would be honored by a donation to one of our favorite charities:
- Community Action Board of Santa Cruz runs several anti-poverty programs, including emergency rent assistance and free legal help for our undocumented neighbors.
- The Homeless Garden Project provides job skills training to people experiencing homelessness in Santa Cruz through work on an organic farm.
